The Socio-Medical Mutual Fund was founded in 1992 as a non-profit health-care coverage provider.
The fund aims to spread the spirit of mutuality amongst the Christians of Lebanon, by helping them carry the burden of their health-care costs as well as offering adherents aid in the areas of: scholarships, social aid, family support, etc….

Reverend Father Georges Sakr, OLM

  • MA in Urban Planning (MUP), USA/

  • Dean of Fine and Applied Arts, Holy Spirit University-Kaslik (USEK), LEBANON.
  • Dean of Agricultural Sciences, Holy Spirit University-Kaslik (USEK), LEBANON.
  • General Director of the Maronite Social Fund, (currently Maronite Social Institution).
  • Chairman of the Planning Committee - Lebanese Maronite Order, LEBANON.
  • Founder and Director of Saint Charbel’s College – Sydney, AUSTRALIA.
  • Founder and Director of School of Fine Arts - College Central Jounieh, LEBANON.
  • Founding member of the Federation of mutual funds in Lebanon.
  • Member of Health and Environment Committee - Maronite League.
  • President of the Association “Pastoral Care Renewal”: Postwar traumas treatment and rehabilitation of employees in the Church Institutions.

Vice President
Mr. Antoine Matar

  • Born in 1949 in Lehfed (Lebanon).
  • Member of the Lebanese Association of Painters and Sculptors.
  • Degrees: higher studies in Interior Architecture, specialization in Graphic Design from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Beirut (Lebanese University) in 1972.
  • Professor at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik at the Faculty of Fine Arts since 1975.
  • Department Head at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
  • Former professor in painting and drafting at Sagesse College in Beirut.
  • Former professor at the Technical School Central College, Jounieh.
  • Founder of the permanent exposition, House of Art “Founoun” Adma since 1990.
  • Has organized and taken part in several art exhibits both locally and internationally.

Dr. Georges Salim Hayek

  • Dr. Georges Hayek was born in 1945 in Lebanon, he studied medicine in France and specialized in gynecology and obstetrics surgery before returning to Lebanon to found Al Hayek Hospital in Beirut. Aside from running his hospital, Dr. Hayek presides over the Lebanese Mexican Friendship Association and is an active member of the Socio-Medical Mutual Fund, Caritas Lebanon, the Central Maronite Council, the Maronite League.

    Dr. Hayek has received recognition for his tireless and outstanding work from the National Order of the Cedars, the St. Sylvester Order and several other medals.

Mr. Georges Arab

Mr. Arab is a Lebanese journalist, writer, researcher and the initiator of several cultural projects in the sacred valley of Kannoubine and the region.

He’s also in charge of publishing “Baldati” Magazine.

His published work includes: Patriarch Sfeir: “Guardian of Memories”, 7 Volumes, Lebanon: Land of Holiness and Heritage, Christians and the Holy Valley, The Caves of the Holy Valley and many other books.

Mr. Ghassan Joseph El Khoury

Mr. Ghassan Khoury is the Chairman, CEO and a shareholder at Magazins Generaux de Fanar (MAGEFCO SAL), Societe Fonciere Amchit SAL, Societe Tilal Al Assal SAL and the president of the humanitarian foundation STOP HUNGER.

He’s also a shareholder and board member at Societe Joseph Khoury et Fils Holding SAL, Societe Unie des Projets Touristiques Maritimes SAL, a board member at Club La Marina Dbayeh, the Social Medical Mutual Fund and an active member at the Maronite League, Central Maronite Council, Maronite Cathedral of St. Georges Beirut.

Aside from that, Mr. El Khoury is an author and has published four books at Editions Du Cherche Midi, France.

CMSM Director
Mr. Antoine Gabriel Zarazir

Director at the Socio-Medical Mutual Fund since 1992.

Licensed in Mathematics and Political & Administrative Sciences, Antoine has joined our team after teaching Mathematics for more than thirty years.

He was the director of the Maronite Social Fund from 1988 until 2016.

His favorite hobbies are horticulture and bibliophilism.
